    Love that you give explanation of how each exercise is working the back and pelvis. Thank you

  • @Divocwax
    @Divocwax 10 днів тому

    On the way back up you have to work against friction between the clothing and the wall. This is not accounted for. Imagine very low friction - coming back up is then easier. Imagine high level friction - coming back up almost impossible. Given of course, that the exercise "seems" to be mainly holding the 90 degree flexed knee position for whichever length of time is doable.

    Ive been smoking cannabis for 7 years now, im 23 years old, im a machinist that works on concrete all day. Due to the lack of filter changes and mold in our water dispenser i havent been drinking much water the past year. I always get cold chills if even have 2 shots of alcohol or go into a 10 degree difference i break out in a cold sweat and go into shock if not heated up quickly. I am an avid drinker of both coffee and pedialyte "balancing it out" i noticed maybe a year ago sciatica pain locking my right foot up unable to stand or walk on it. Then i switched from coffee too soda. This leaves me a bit puzzled as my roommate does not drink water. Only soda and sweet tea. Hes 45... works the same job as i. But instead of 5'4 hes 6'1". Pretty rusty tho he can do maybe a few pullups not sure how im as cripple as i am. But ill be trying bananas and more water definitely after a long day at home from work today inable to walk. Maybe even done smoking daily

    Thank you for the information! I love learning about the human body, & if I had a whole new life to start new from, I’d probably end up in some field that focuses on all the wonders of the human brain & body, & how they react to all kinds of situations & the many actions & types of beneficial, naturally occurring chemicals we can take, to prevent pain & illness, & to help improve , &/or sustain our health. But, maybe next life time- if I get one. One thing I found odd & had to question, at the beginning of this video, is when you said we’re “lucky” that our necks don’t react the same way as our arms would, were our arms holding out a bowling ball in front of us. I don’t believe it really is “lucky” that our neck muscles don’t respond to holding our heads in a stressful & strained position, the same way our arm muscles in would respond to your bowling ball example. I can think of 2 likely benefits, if our necks did behave the same way our arms do- experiencing the same burning, discomfort, & eventual inability to continue holding a stressful position. The first, & most important, is that after holding our heads in a painful & unhealthy position for any extended period of time, it would be good if our necks simply stopped being able/refused to continue holding our heads in that position, because it would prevent us from developing the poor posture & calcification of the muscles that it creates. The second, is that holding a weight, still, at arm’s length is an isometric exercise, & of the many positive effects of isometrics (strengthening muscle fibers, lowering blood pressure, & building cartilage, among many others), one of them is……better posture! So, perhaps it actually quite UNlucky that our necks don’t react to stress the same way our arms do. Because if they did, it would prevent us from being capable of putting our necks through the prolonged stress that we do; &, by strengthening the muscles & cartilage in our necks, they would be able to hold more & more of the weight of our heads & lessen the strain on our spine, & it would improve our over-all posture & benefit multiple other aspects of our health. So I thought maybe you’d like to consider editing out the word “lucky”, or “luckily”, before saying the muscles in our necks don’t behave like those in our arms. Just a thought! Thanks again!

    Thank you, Doctor. I’m 68 year old retired veteran and have been working with the VA for the past 20 years on my leg discrepancy . Well, they’re very nice. They put me in shoes. They had a complete lift, and that ended up being a nightmare since each shoe that was modified was different. . Now, as you recommended and will be slowly working up to balancing my leg length . Quick question how can you confirm your hip straight? Is it as simple as looking in the mirror?

      @@jpturner171 - we take an x-ray to know exactly how much is anatomically different. Taking the measurement is a better guess, but you can't tell how much is functional or anatomical without the x-ray. Checking hip height in a mirror would also have the same issue.
